Faces in the Crowd

I have had a passion for faces lately, so I pulled out the acrylics and created these two ladies.  I had so much fun doing something less structured.

Something different

I have been trying a few different styles since my exhibition, I have so many wonderful beach paintings and I am missing my pastels like crazy but I have decided to switch back to acrylics for a short while... If I can last it out, my fingers are itching to get back to my pastel box.

Anyway I have so many wonderful photo's taken during our trip to Italy so I have decided to do a little series based on the amazing buildings that we saw.

Please let me know what you think of this painting

Art Workshop for Kids

My Saturday morning kids finished a couple of pieces, Trinity completed her portrait of Gwen Stefani, done is gouche, what a fantastic job!!

Eloise completed her cup cake and was not happy with the results but I told her I love the almost abstract and simplistic look of her cup cake and she should be proud of it.

This picture above is the kids hard at work.....

Keep up the great work everyone, can't wait for next week :)

Painting - A Road Well Travelled

This is a slightly different painting for me but when I saw those clouds I knew I had to get the pastels out and capture it.  My friend's friend had taken this picture whilst travelling so thank you to both of them for letting me capture this moment in time.

Even better news it sold last night and has gone off to a new home, the person that bought it rides a motorbike and this painting reminds him of being on the open road with just the white line for company.  It is always such a good feeling when someone connects with the painting.

Enjoy this glorious spring weekend everyone!

Staffi Love

Our two staffi's have always had a very close relationship it started when Angus was very young and Abbey insisted on sleeping in his bed.

After getting tired of being squashed Angus takes prime position

And it has never changed since, they are still as close as ever.  While one might only be able to walk every second day, sleeps longer than normal and is almost completely deaf and the other is fit and ready for anything they both rely completely on each other and remain true companions.  I hope you enjoy your Staffi loved up Tuesday !

Spring is Here

What a beautiful weekend, the sun was shining, it is just the most perfect time of year.  The flowers are peaking their heads out and the bbq is being fired up again.  I just love Spring.  More flowers from my play with my new lens.  Enjoy!

Painting - Paradise Found

This is one of my favourite paintings, I had the pleasure of sitting and staring at it whilst manning my exhibition for a week, I was wishing I was on that beach the whole time!  It is a large piece approx 1,000 x 700 and it sold last weekend to a lovely couple.  I hope this piece brings them lots of joy.

Solo Art Exhibition

My solo art exhibition held at Midland Junction Art Centre went really well.  Despite the terrible stormy weather I had around 50 people attend the opening and it was a very positive experience.  Here are some shots of the proceedings.  A biggest thank you to family and friends for all their help and continued support, I really appreciate you giving up your day for me and I couldn't have done it without you!

Setting up on Friday morning, thank goodness Ian was on hand to help us work out where to place the artwork, it may just have ended up in divorce otherwise!

The all important drinks table!  we had a mishap prior to the event, the table crashed and we lost all our glasses and a couple of bottles of wine.  It was all saved by my gorgeous friends that rushed around and cleaned up and nobody would have ever known.
Me standing next to one of my pieces, it was a gift to my girlfriend and I was under strict instructions that it was not to be sold under any circumstances.
Just waiting on the people!

Niki writing up the first sale!

These paintings below were sold during the exhibition.
Trodden Path
Rolling In
Escape
Down the Path, Yallingup
Beaumauris Beach
Thank you to all who purchased one of my paintings, I hope it brings you many years of joy.
