Painting Demonstration

This was my finished piece from my pastel demonstration at Brave Art in Joondalup Shopping Centre last night.  Despite feeling like the "doggy in the window" I really did enjoy the process.  Lots of people came up to me and commented on my work so positive and was nice validation.  I would definately do it again and after a couple of hours I created this lovely piece below.

Adult Art Classes

I am running art classes for adults, Wednesday mornings 10 am til 12 noon. 

I only teach a small group pastel painting, no experience necessary all pastels supplied.  Cost $190 for 8 week course.

Art Classes for Kids

I am running art classes for kids commencing 5 May to 9 June (8 weeks) cost $120.00

We are covering a range of mediums, acrylic painting, pencil drawing, pastel and charcoal work and sculpture.  The kids have great fun and have the ability to expand their knowledge by learing a variety of different mediums.

These classes are run on Saturday mornings 10am til 12 noon.

Wonderful Waves

This painting below was a comission piece that I did for a lovely couple about to build their new home, I hope this painting brings them many years of joy.

 

This painting below is of the reef in Yanchep, as soon as I showed this one to my husband he snapped it up for himself, we are running out of wall space!!  Thank goodness it is a small piece.

Changing your Colour Palette

I recently attended a workshop held by Val Brooks and my aim was to loosen up my style a bit and change my colour palette.  I found this so confronting as I am used to using mainly blues and greens and whites for the sand. It was challenging to use different colours and it wasn't until I got home and finished my piece, propped it up against the wall, sat back and had my cup of tea and actually looked at the painting with fresh eyes that I began to really like it.  It has a serene feeling and I really love the rich reds and greens in the bushes.  I feel as an artist it is so important to grow and learn so I constantly try to attend different workshops held by fabulous West Australian artists throughout the year.

More Sunsets

I was watching a movie the other night and there was a mysterious orange glow seeping in through the windows.  I forced myself off the couch and this is the result of the beauty that was in front of me, I just can't resist sharing a perfectly good sunset!
