Pie Maker and Flannelettes

Winter has arrived, it is soooooooo cold.  During the day at work I have an electric heater but it was no longer sufficient having it blowing on my feet I had to lift it up to my desk to blow on my arms but my left shoulder kept getting cold as the feeble heater only had enough power for one side to warm up.  I have to be careful not to diss my heater as without it I would not survive winter in our office, I love my heater and thank it everyday just in case it decides to stop working.  It's a bit like the old thing when you say I haven't had a cold for years and within the hour your nose starts to run and your throat hurts!!

With this cold weather upon us I have taken to sleeping in my flannelette PJ's with flannelette sheets to boot, thankfully I sleep on my back so I have no problems with rolling over, anyone that has worn flannelette will know what I am talking about, it kind of restricts all movement unless you have silk sheets and who has those?

When I am rudely interrupted by my alarm in the morning and have to get out of my cocoon of warmth I put on my reverse cycle heating in the bedroom to warm the room up before I run to the hot shower, I spend 10 minutes defrosting and put on the heat lamp in the bathroom before running back to the bedroom to change in the warmth.  Then I run downstairs and put the gas fire on, I absolutely hate being cold.

Being cold does have some merits, I have rediscovered my pie maker and had the most delicious meat pie with mash, peas and gravy for tea tonight, I love curries and stews, washed down with a good glass of red and the fact that your wooley jumpers can hide your muffin top, PERFECT!

Happy winter everyone!
