Street Drawings, Florence

In Florence, Italy these two men were painting up a storm in the middle of the street.  These paintings were done in chalk pastel  .  So beautifully done, what a shame they will eventually be washed away.  The guys baskets were full of euro's so I guess it is a good day's work!

This brass statue of a hog was outside the leather market, apparently if you rub its snout it ensures that you will one day return to Florence.  I read this in the guidebook after we had left.  What a shame I could see myself going back to Florence one day quite happily!

New Painting - Morning Breeze

Fresh off the easel, this painting "Morning Breeze" has just gone to a new home.

Oh to be Outside!

I am at work, inside an airconditioned cold office with my heater on.  It is a perfect spring day outside, 25 degrees and it looks sooooo delightful. 

I am imagining that I am back on holidays sitting on our hotel balcony in Positano with the sun beating down on me and the idyllic sounds of the churchbells ringing aaaaahhhh......

Look at this picture and tell me if you can imagine yourself here too, it is bliss...

I don't mind being stuck inside when it is raining and windy but today is so sensational that I am wishing for the next long weekend to present itself!

Art Exhibition Pending

I have a solo exhibition coming up in March next year, I know it seems like a million miles away but I have been painting up a storm.  I would love some support so anyone that wants to attend on a Sunday in March with free wine at a winery and to chill and look at some artwork please let me know and I will organise an invite for you!

Spring Spring Glorious Spring

The bounce is back in my step, spring is here!

Colours of Spring

Today feels like Spring!  the sun is shining and it feels warm outside, the sun on your face and body, thawing the bones out, is wonderful.  I was up at 6.00am, yes not a typo actually 6am and walked the dogs with my husband who is a morning person and I am not.  The morning was still dark, the moon was out, it felt like I was walking at 7pm at night but I had sleep in my eyes and my brain was still fuzzy.  My husband was rushing me out the door, I was only trying to zip up my jacket to save me from freezing, I had a couple of layers on, my leather gloves and my beanie, my husband had board shorts and a thin long sleeved top.  I must say half way around I started to combust and had to open my jacket to let some air in!!

I was glad I had done it but now it is 2pm and I am needing a nana nap zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

These beautiful paua shells remind me of summer, the aqua greens, lilac, teal green, oranges, peaches.  These amazing patters would make a great abstract painting!
