Learning to Loosen Up - Kids drawing lessons

I wanted my Saturday morning kids to stop stressing out about drawing or about making a mistake with their work.  We got out some charcoal and pastels and use fluid flowing movements to produce these drawings of ballerinas.  They started off using a pencil and went over their work with the charcoal.  They practiced with the first drawing then used coarse colour fix paper for their second drawing.  They did so well and have removed some of the fear of drawing themselves.

 There was not an eraser in sight and learned to let go, they loved getting involved with their hands and became immersed with their work, I could hear their scratchings and flowing movements on the paper and it was joyful!

Art Classes - First Paintings

Three of my ladies from my Wednesday mornings pastel class have completed their first painting.  Here they are fresh off the easel.

Kids Drawing Classes

My Saturday morning kids classes have returned and I decided to try something new with my fabulous bunch.  We did a pencil drawing of a man's portrait and we had good fun trying to get everything in proportion. 

Then when they felt a little bit more confident we went on to do a self portrait pencil drawing.  I think they have done an absolutely fantastic job since it was their first time trying to draw a face.  I was so happy that they were more confident about putting their pencil on the paper and giving something new a go!

Gorgeous Sunset and wave

This photograph was taken at Wedge Point, we raced down the beach in time to see the most beautiful sunset, with the hues of the setting sun glinting on the sand giving it a glassy look.  We sat on our chairs, glass of wine in hand and watched the sun go down.  We were lucky to get some amazing shots and it was all over in about 5 minutes and I was so glad we made it down the beach in time.  This is what Australia is all about!
